Florida State University

Florida State University, established in 1851, more colloquially known by their moniker of FSU is one of the foremost universities in the state of Florida for both academics and its nationally ranked athletics programs. FSU sits on about 477 acres of land, boasts over 40,000 students, offers more than 350 degree programs and is hailed as one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. Whether you are considering attending or just looking for a beautiful walk through a slice of history then FSU might be just the place to visit.

Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park

Once a plantation in the 1800s, Jackson Mounds is now an Archeological State Park that offers a variety of activities for those who love the outdoors. While visiting Jackson Mounds you are able to visit historical temple mound sites, take guided tours through the park, hike the two available trails, set up picnics in designated areas, and experience wildlife viewings daily.

If you are looking for an immersive experience, it is recommended to hike the 2.2-mile nature trail where you can take in the local trees, plants, and wildlife that is in the area. If you are looking for a slightly more challenging endeavor, then the .75-mile interpretive trail is for you, going through rougher terrain and slopes that take you past parts of the old plantation mill owned by Colonel Robert Butler.

Proof Brewing Co.

Proof Brewing company was established in 2012 as the first and largest independent brewery in the greater Tallahassee area. They are an award-winning brewery who prides themselves on the unique and innovative ways they go about creating a multitude of different beer varieties.
